Musical Director - Jeremy Burrows

Jeremy Burrows

Jeremy grew up in a musical home in North London until he broke too many windows playing cricket in the garden.  Peace descended when his long-suffering parents sent him to St Paul’s Cathedral as a chorister. He has sung with many other leading choirs since then, including New College Oxford, St Alban’s Abbey and Ely Cathedral. After leaving university he sang freelance as a countertenor and his work included singing with Ex Cathedra, I Fagiolini, Polyphony, The Academy of Ancient Music, The Finzi Singers and The Gabrieli Consort. He has considerable experience as a soloist in oratorios, both as a countertenor and bass.

Jeremy’s main influences in classical choral music come from Barry Rose and Edward Higginbottom. He greatly enjoyed his experiences of singing lighter close-harmony music whilst at university.

Jeremy started singing with Tapestry in 2012 and has been Musical Director since February 2017. He aims to continue the group’s tradition of singing unaccompanied music from a wide range of genres.
