Our name comes from the interweaving of voices to form a colourful whole, a "Tapestry" of sound created by vocal threads.

We particularly enjoy helping to raise valuable funds for local charities through our concerts. Our nominated charity for 2007 was East Anglia's Children's Hospices, in particular the Milton Hospice, for whom we raised £1937.

In 2008 we helped raise £800 for RNLI Lifeboats, £600 for The Holy Land 2003 Charity and £565 for the Paediatric Diabetic Department at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.

For 2009 we are supporting Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue (CamSAR)

Other Tapestries...

There are other 'Tapestry' groups around the world. Unfortunately we haven't heard them yet, but you may find the following selection from North America interesting:

  • Tapestry Singers - Austin Women's Chorus are a community-supported, nonprofit organisation dedicated to singing songs by, for or about women.
